THE LAW OF THE HOUSE OF GOD
TEXT : EZEKIEL 43:12 (NKJV) - This is the law of the temple: The whole area surrounding the mountaintop is most holy. Behold, this is the law of the temple.
God said, “The law of my house is Holy” i.e. I will dwell in holiness. Whereever there is holiness - in the church, in the home, in the nation, in our hearts I will make my habitation. To be holy is to separate from evil, to be pure and clean. God alone is holy; he hates evil and does not associate himself with evil.
Revelation 4:8
The apostle John saw in a vision the throne of God; he saw angles around the throne of God crying Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty, in reverence and awe to the Holy one.
They were giving glory and honour and reverence to God continually around the throne of God.
God’s will is that earth be like heaven.
Exodus 3: 1 – 6
God told Moses when he came to the mountain of God, to take of thy shoes for where you are standing is Holy ground.
a) God requires holiness to dwell in. Everywhere his presence is, there will be holiness. Moses hid his face. He was afraid to look into God’s holiness.
b) God’s holiness or his presence will make us aware of our sins and shortcomings in our lives.
Ephesians 1:4
God chose us in him before the foundation of the world. He chose us to be holy without blame before him in love.
Romans 12:1
We must present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy unto God, this is acceptable to God.
1 Peter 1: 15 – 16
Be holy as I am holy. God called us to be Holy, like him in all areas of our lives. In our talk, walk or everything that we do must be holy.
Hebrews 12: 14 – 15
Follow peace with all men and holiness without which no man can see the Lord. Be at peace with all men, and get rid of bitterness, don’t allow it to form roots for it will trouble you and hinder you. Follow after holiness then you will see God.
Matthew 5:8
Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God. To see God, to experience God, to be intimate with God then holiness is required.
